Bentonville Hotels Near the Trails: Where You Can Ride From Your Door

The best Bentonville hotels near the bike trails are the downtown hotels around the Square. From Motto, 21c, or The Compton, you can roll onto the Razorback Greenway and reach Slaughter Pen without touching your car, and Coler is about a 10-minute ride away. For the Walmart Home Office trails, stay at the AC Hotel next to the campus. For a hotel built entirely around bikes, look at the Bike Inn on S Walton Blvd, south of downtown and a short drive from Coler.

Downtown: the best base for most riders

If it's your first trip, stay downtown. The Square puts you at the center of everything: the Razorback Greenway, the All American trailhead at Compton Gardens, coffee, dinner, and Crystal Bridges. You can ride out after breakfast and be back for lunch without loading the car.

From downtown, the riding breaks down like this:

Slaughter Pen: Singletrack starts about a minute from the Square at the All American trailhead. The Greenway is downhill into Slaughter Pen and a climb on the way back, so save some legs for the ride home.

Coler: Coler MTB Preserve is about a 10-minute ride, so you skip the parking question entirely.

Walmart Home Office trails: About a mile south on the Greenway. The Walmart loops make an easy arrival-day spin.

Motto by Hilton Bentonville Downtown

Motto sits on S Main St, steps from the Square. It has an on-site bike valet with a secure, bike-focused room, plus lockers for helmets and pads, so your bike isn't in the room with you. The valet runs through a partnership with 37 North Expeditions. Motto also accepts bikes shipped ahead of your trip.

21c Museum Hotel

21c is on NE A Street, minutes from the All American trailhead, and it's the closest of the downtown hotels to the north end of town. Visit Bentonville lists secure bike storage, a bike tool kit, a bike wash station, and early acceptance of shipped bikes.

The Compton

The Compton is the newest downtown option, on E Central Ave. It was built with riders in mind and has a bike valet, a wash station, and storage.

The Block Hotel

The Block is right in the downtown action and puts bike racks in the rooms. That's a nice fit if you'd rather keep a carbon bike where you can see it.

Walmart Home Office: AC Hotel Bentonville

The AC Hotel sits next to the new Walmart Home Office campus, which makes it the easiest stay for riders who are in town for Walmart meetings. The Razorback Greenway runs right through campus, and the trail loops branch off to the north, the south around the lake, and to the east and west. Downtown is about a mile up the Greenway, and Slaughter Pen is beyond that.

Visit Bentonville lists bike storage and parking, a bike and scooter share hub, and early acceptance of shipped bikes. If you're here on business and didn't bring a bike, rent one, and you can still get a lap in between meetings. Our Walmart Home Office trail guide covers the loops and parking.

South Bentonville: The Bike Inn

The Bike Inn is the one hotel in town built around bikes rather than adding them later. It's on S Walton Blvd in south Bentonville, about 3.4 miles from Coler, and close to Osage Park.

Its listing describes secure bike storage, a bike wash station, wall-mounted bike racks in the rooms, and an outdoor hot tub, sauna, and cold plunge for the end of a long day. Guests also mention a repair station with tools. Rooms range from single queens to two-queen suites and a cottage that sleeps 4, so it works for a couple or a small group.

You're not downtown here, so plan on a short drive to the trailheads or a longer ride in. In exchange, you get a place where everyone shows up with a muddy bike.

Notes: The Bike Inn has built their Hotel around what mountain, gravel and Road bike riders need while visiting and riding around Bentonville. They can handle large groups and even offer an option to rent out the entire Inn.

Hotels outside downtown with bike storage

Several hotels outside downtown are bike-friendly list and take bikes seriously, even if you'll drive to the trailhead:

Element Bentonville: Bike storage and parking, a bike share hub nearby, and a Bike Borrow Program with two road bikes for guests.

DoubleTree Suites by Hilton: Bike storage, a tool kit, and transportation.

Comfort Inn Bentonville: Bike storage and parking.

La Quinta: Bike storage and a tool kit.

These are usually easier on the budget. Our Slaughter Pen parking and Coler parking posts tell you which lot to aim for.

Which hotel should you pick?

First trip, want to ride from the door: Downtown. Motto, 21c, The Compton, or The Block.

Mostly riding Slaughter Pen: Downtown, closest to the north end. 21c is a short roll to the All American trailhead.

Mostly riding Coler: Downtown (10-minute ride) or the Bike Inn (short drive).

In town for Walmart meetings: AC Hotel Bentonville.

Want everything built around bikes: The Bike Inn.

Traveling with a group or family: A rental house usually beats two hotel rooms. Start with our Vacation Rentals page and look for a garage and a hose.

Watching the budget: One of the hotels outside downtown with bike storage, then drive to the trailhead.

Whatever you pick, check the Trail Conditions page before you ride. If it rained overnight, ride the wet-weather trails: Leopards Loop, Choo Choo, and Black Apple Creek in Slaughter Pen, or Esther's Loop and Oscar’s Loop at Coler.

What "bike-friendly" should mean

When a hotel calls itself bike-friendly, these are the things to ask about:

Secure storage. An indoor, locked room or a valet, not a rack in the parking garage.

A place to wash your bike. Bentonville clay sticks. A hose and stand saves your room and your drivetrain.

Tools and a pump. A repair stand and a floor pump fix most morning surprises.

Shipped-bike acceptance. If you're flying into XNA, ship your bike ahead and have it waiting.

A route to the trails. Ask whether you can ride to the Razorback Greenway without riding on a busy road.

If you're skipping the shipping hassle, rent a bike instead. Our Bike Rentals page covers the local shops, and several deliver to hotels.

Pair it with

Staying downtown? Start your first morning on the All American trailhead and roll the Greenway into Slaughter Pen. Our First Time Visitor Guide builds the rest of the day so you can Choose Your Own Adventure. Staying at the AC? Spin the Walmart loops on arrival day, then ride north to downtown for dinner.
