Coler MTB Preserve offers a quieter, more immersive mountain biking experience just minutes from downtown Bentonville. Built into a wooded ravine system, Coler blends flowing singletrack, technical rock features, and iconic jump lines into a trail network that feels both intentional and adventurous.

Unlike the urban feel of Slaughter Pen, Coler rewards riders who slow down, explore, and connect multiple zones into a full ride. Well-marked hubs make it easy to plan loops, stack descents, or session favorite features. Whether you’re riding scenic flow, dialing in technical skills, or chasing airtime, Coler delivers a balanced experience for riders of all levels.

Navigating Coler MTB Preserve is fairly simple. You will find parking at both the North and South ends of the preserve. A paved Applegate trail connects the parking lots with a popular space in the middle that has some scenic barns that are great for photos and an Airship Coffee if you need a moment to recharge. The east side of Coler has The HUB and many of the most popular trails and destinations while the west side offers some all weather cross country style trails with some tech and beginner friendly flow trails offering an adventurous side quests.

Where to Park

South End: There are two parking lots on the South end of Coler

  • Coler Grove Parking Lot - This is the biggest parking lot at top of the hill

  • South Gateway Lot - Bottom of the hill lot that tends to fill up fast

North End Parking Lot: This lot is popular due to its easy access to the East side

Coffee in the Park

In the middle of Coler MTB Preserve is Airship Coffee where trail culture mixes with community. You will find both a social space and a perfect place for a pre ride fuel up, post ride recovery, or regrouping with friends some time in the middle.

Trails flowing in and out of this area make it easy to build flexible ride plans or session nearby features before heading deeper into Coler.

West Side: Coler MTB Preserve Trails

The West Side of the Coler MTB Preserve is where riders find all weather cross country style riding, smooth progression, some spicy rock gardens, and playful flow. This side of the preserve is ideal for riders looking to build confidence, ride with family, or focus on skill development. There is a spicy tech side to be discovered for those seeking some chunky rock gardens and elevated wooden features. Here’s Johnny offers a great side quest that adds a lot of rocky spice option along Ether’s loop.

Trails like Esther’s Loop and Family Flow offer predictable grades and rhythmic movement through the woods, while gravity-focused zones such as Thunder Dome and Thunder Rolls give riders a place to session jumps and drops in a controlled environment.

East Side: Coler MTB Preserve Trails

The east side of the Coler MTB Preserve delivers a more expansive and exploratory riding experience. This side features more connections, greater variety, and many of Coler’s most well-known trails radiating out from The HUB and surrounding areas.

With trails like Oscar’s Loop, Fireline, Dirt Therapy, and Drop the Hammer, the east side blends scenic flow, technical rock gardens, opportunities to grab some air and the ability to choose your own adventure as you explore. It’s the best choice for riders looking to cover more ground, link multiple trail styles, and experience the full depth of what Coler has to offer.

The east side is also where many first time visitors naturally begin, thanks to clear access points, trail density, and proximity to amenities at the HUB.
