Most riders start at either Slaughter Pen or Coler MTB Preserve. Slaughter Pen offers quick access to a wide range of trail styles near downtown Bentonville, while Coler MTB Preserve delivers a more immersive trail system experience. If you have extra time, Wonderland Trail system and Blowing Springs in Bella Vista are fun options. If you want a long cross country style experience the Back 40 (22 Miles) or Tunnel Vision (24 miles) trails will answer that call.

Yes, Bentonville is one of the best beginner friendly mountain bike destinations in the country. There are dedicated green trails that are well marked, and in Slaughter Pen there is a top notch skills area that is a must visit as it features many progression features that make it ideal for learning.

You can sample the highlights in a weekend, but 3–4 days lets you explore multiple systems without rushing. A full week allows you to branch out to places like Blowing Springs, Wonderland Trails, Handcut Hollow and the Back 40.

Not necessarily. Many trails ride great on a hardtail. A full-suspension bike helps on technical or jump heavy lines, but riders of all setups have fun here.

Spring and fall offer ideal temperatures. Summer is hot so be sure to take lots of water and electrolytes. Winter can be surprisingly good depending with temps ranging from 30 to 60 or even 70+ degrees depending on the weather that week.

That depends on you. Many visitors do end up renting an e-bike simply because you can do so much more in a day on one. That translates to experiencing more of Bentonville and the surrounding trail systems. Some visitors bring their own regular bikes then after a few days switch over to have more fun on their remaining trip.

Yes, the Razorback Greenway and All American Trail will take you from Downtown Bentonville to Bella Vista and the Back 40. There are dedicated bike lanes on 3rd street if you want to ride to Coler MTB Preserve. Google Maps is a great resource to help you navigate around Bentonville.
